How realistic is the prospect of building a DIY time machine in one's own garage?

It seems like a field of research that is being ignored for the most part and watching movies like Primer, BTTF, ARQ, etc. has inspired me to learn physics online and take a stab at the problem myself.

There are devices out there that would be ridiculously useful, and that *are* viable to build if you just spend years of your time going at it. But a time machine is not one of them.

My dream today was actually pretty interesting but I don't remember most of it. There was this elevator that stopped off on floor three and these two men went into the floor and there was a statue of a black cat, and it was underground and wooden and old but big and they called it beautiful looking.

Then there was this old lady and a younger lady with her and the younger lady said her name was like tei or something i literally can't remember at all it was some weird sounding name.

I'm fairly certain this guy opened up a big metal door that said 115 on it like the room number then there was this school shooting maybe?

Hopefully that dream wasn't predicting something.

Anyways, what else happened it appeared to be some school for older people attached to a school for younger people.

There was also this lady cooking food or something and some old man who went to go play with toys and he was a veteran. And this older lady making bread or something. Weird dream.

I swear sometime in 2010 I got called in the middle of the night at like 4 AM and the number I saw on the screen was my own phone number.

I picked up the phone and I heard absolute silence on the other side and then some extremely high pitched tinnitus sound in the ear I had the phone against. I hung up and went to sleep.

Next day there were no records of this call but I'm 100% sure I didn't dream it because I had taken my phone out of the charger and next to my pillow which is where I had set it after the call.

I never talked about this because I'm a rational person and I know there's a more rational explanation for this like an error in the phone software or at the cell tower or something.
