Hell fucking yes it does! It has constraints and dimensions too like every CAD system should, not like that OpenSCAD trash. It's really fucking nice for designing stuff for additive manufacturing. I've found the python scripting to be really fucking useful too. Recently used it to extract geometry into a simulator, for which no CAD converter exists.

Because it checks it's server all the time and makes you wait. Try opening even a basic part and it takes at least 30 seconds. Every time you boot the program it takes minutes even with an SSD (you will have to reboot because it just slows itself down overtime even if you have 32GB+ of RAM).

No you can't and it's way slower and glitchy if you make an assembly. I watched offical fusion tutorials to see if I was just a retard and they had the same problems. I've heard arguments that it is more intuitive than solidworks or the like, but I tried teaching my engineering teacher back in highschool and it took him forever to figure it out. He picked up solidworks immediately. Granted he was older and not experienced with computers so he wasn't the best at problem solving why his entire assembly imploded on himself when he added a constraint but nonetheless solidworks was far easier.

the only thing I don't like about fusion is its move tool workflow being slow. I want something like maya so I can hold "d", snap pivot with middle mouse button and then hold "c" or "v" and middle mouse snap the object to whatever I want.

Also I want to export to quads not just triangles.

What is your preferred tool?
Solidworks, Inventor, Creo, Catia, NX, FreeCAD or dare I say Sketchup? Considering you care about the topology of mesh exports do you use it for some kind of game design?

yeah I use it for general modeling and not manufacturing. Haven't tried out inventor but Solidworks sucks ass, sketchup is too "dirty / rought" and relies too much on plugins. Moi3D is something I'm considering, otherwise I'll stick to Fusion or try inventor.

Ah, I've been using Fusion and Solidworks for some game modeling. I used to think solidworks sucks but I've missed it since I was forced to use Fusion when my Solidworks license for high school robotics expired. I'm back to using solidworks again in uni.

It's kindof a pain to have to import models into blender and then collapse all of the useless high detail edges because fusion won't let me make my model more coarse, so now I make a low resolution version (usually with bevels instead of fillets) as the base and then make a higher detail version with all of the small details like bolts and smooth edges. Then I just project the high res version as a normal map onto the lower res version.

That model was a clone growing machine that was supposed to grow fetuses inside which I sculpted in blender. However for more organic parts with tubes and such I haven't had luck with CAD, it just exports parts that have too many vertices for curved surfaces and fusion won't let me make it any coarser. I had to import the parts and then add the tubes and such in blender.

just make the high res version and at the end export a second version of it with all the bevels and small detail deleted. fusion is good at letting you delete specific things without fucking up.
