During the 1990s computer craze while the tech was being plugged hard, it was in pop culture that they had working quantum computers, that the government had developed, and we didn't get told what quantum meant, it was represented more as the difference between like a regular computer and a supercomputer.
So we were told they had working quantum computers like thirty years ago.
So now there is a big generation of people who fell for over confident marketing and get really angry if you challenge them because it's so confusing .
