Finally, here is a perspective from someone from Russia: as a math major, I knew lots of algebra (basic abstract algebra like R-modules and PIDs, representations theory, exterior algebra), homological algebra (exact sequences, Ext/Tor functors, etc.), (co)homology theory (universal coefficients, Mayers-Vietoris, de Rham cohomology, some K-theory),measure theory (Lesbesgue mostly), functional analysis, topology (general, algebraic), algebraic geometry (standard stuff + schemes and ring spectrums), differential geometry (through differential forms), Riemannian geometry (and some Kahler manifolds), Riemann-Roch theorem and we barely touched the Atiyah-Singer index theorem in the K-theory course.
There was some applied stuff but it was not the focus, so I still knew how to calculate a vector flux through a surface or solve an ODE system.
But this was a *pure* math course. Are you sure you are not at applied math program?
