So I learned about aerogel today and how much it can insulate heat at a ridiculous level. Now, i'm trying to answer something a friend asked me. Could armor made out of aerogel and similar highly insulating material lessen or even nullify the effects of a star wars blaster bolt assuming the bolts from an E-11 are at least 250 degrees fahrenheit or higher.
