>>11209301I think the overuse of grain and dairy was a step back for overall health. I would reduce those to merely diet supplement level of consumption. Like more lean meat(goat, rabbit, poultry), fungi (shiitake, maitake, S. rugosoannulata), low sugar fruits (strawberry, blackberry, California avacado), offal (liver, marrow, brain) and greens (chard, mustard, collard, wild greens) over higher starch(grains, pseudo-grains, potatoes), higher fat(vegetable oil, butter, animal fat), and higher sugar (sucrose, various processed plant sugars, honey) levels. [Examples are merely generalized.]
>>11207598>Animals avoid nightshade.Tell that to the deer, rabbit, and groundhogs that eat a portion of my tomato, pepper, and potato plant leaves every season, prior to protecting the plants. They don't eat much, but I was required to completely fence things off to prevent further damage.
>>11209537>grandfathers who ate much more tougher and fiberous diets.lol The 1950s had all those food advertisements stating, "better digestibility," on them. That was basically the start of the baby food era for adults. You can get everything pre-chewed and pre-digested for you now in bottles and easy-to-open pull-tab containers.
>>11209489You can feed your animals properly and not need to supplement them with vitamins in their feed. Often times, people will say "meat eater" and only ever mean that literally. A person with a well-rounded diet will also eat organ meats, just as many animals do. Those organ meats, liver especially, are loaded with B12. Eggs are a low source. Animals that eat insects can get heaps of B12. Poultry love insects and have delicious livers.
