I don't have much experience with algebra besides the basics and Lie theory, where a lot of that stuff is understood from a topological viewpoint. Oh also algebraic topology. Topology is fun and the algebra I learned to understand topology is also fun. But I can't speak on broader aspects of algebra.
Differential geometry can be either really awesome because you look at it through topological and algebraic lenses, or a fucking nightmare because you have to explicitly write out chart maps and tensor field components.
