uni is a waste of time desu. its only purpose is getting access to well paying jobs and, if youre insane, going to academia. just cheat your way through, the only thing you need to learn is some programming language to go straight into code monkeying industry. easiest way to accomplish this is getting paid internship in some mediocre company during studies and begging them to let you stay after the internship ends and after getting those magical 2 years of coding experience in your cv go straight for a good large corporation like google or facebook. you literally wont have to move a finger and youll be making 70+k us easily

But I've got to use a GI bill on something. Literally the only reason Im going to college is because i'm getting paid to go and potentially won't even have to work while i'm there whereas a coding intership would still require me to support myself. Now if i had remained a civilian, then yeah, fuck college. I would've focused on the grind.

Literally as hard as you make it. The baseline degree is easy as it’s the basics of software dev. The “full” degree (with is usually supplemented with a double major in math, in my experience) is way heavier on workload and difficulty.

Is it true? I'm too poor to pay for a full bachelors degree but I can pay for a semester and use my internship money to pay for the rest of the degree?

Honestly, I started off as just a CS major, but it was too easy, so I'm doing a double major in Math. Plenty of my friends who only did CS got high paying jobs in web/app development. Math has a lot of stuff that just sits around until someone finds a use for it, so doing a double major makes you more qualified for more advance jobs and makes you more future proof.

Don't get me wrong, doing general software development is fun but most of it you can pick up from youtube videos.

I've had a fun time in most programming classes because I enjoy it, UX shit and IT retards are a pain though.
In truth, CS, of all things doesn't need to be a degree like others and should just filter out people going in it for the 'money' and gaymers who think it will be easy sailing
