The science behind this is that the laser light penetrates cells and stimulates ATP production, right?

It's used in surgery for wound healing, and yes one of the mechanisms is believed to be cytochrome C excitation, although I've read about general ROS neutralization as well. I'm not OP but you can but small purpose-built lamps for like sixty dollars if you don't want to buy chinkshit.
