How can I turn carbon fiber roving efficiently and cheaply? I need some thread with high tensile strength that I can use in a sewing machine, but all I could find was either fishing line or a company producing a type of Tenax with a TS of 5100 MPa. The latter material would be great, but they only sell it as 12K Rovings, which would mean I'd have to spin it into thread myself. Is there a method to create the carbon thread without too much budget and effort or should I just go with the inferior fishing line?
