I want to believe, but something about this guy just rubs me the wrong way.

lmao. he hyped the shit out of resveratrol and made a company that sold it (which has no proven health benefits for humans), which then got sold for $720 million https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sirtris_Pharmaceuticals. also founded or involved with several other biotech companies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Andrew_Sinclair
none of which have passed any clinical trials

In fact, I think Sinclair only got where he is because intelligent people (the kind at Harvard, Goolge, and GSK) are conditioned to avoid stereotyping.

I suspect you're right. In a sense, it's a matter of economic class. People without a lot of money can scarcely afford to get taken to the cleaners by a scammer and are thus incentivized to exercise more discretion. The rich generally stay rich even after getting scammed, so it hurts them less to ignore their gut instincts.
