How do we stop premeds from destroying chemistry? The first two years of chemistry courses in a chem degree are useless horseshit because the hordes of premeds require classes be taught in the simplest manner with no regard for rigor or understanding. They demand the ability to memorize their way to an A and they outnumber the chem majors who want to be actual scientists one day. I hate them. I fucking hate them. I had to dumb down how I taught kinetic theory of gases because they complained there was too much math and physics; I had to hold special office hours for the students who genuinely cared about learning so I could give them the education they deserved instead of being held back by these scum.
