She's a hack and an idiot, and true technological achievement only exists in current society as a means to maintain status quo and uphold current institutions of power (rampant consumerism, surveillance state, etc). The interesting technological advancements aren't necessarily profitable for private sect so it is not justly rewarded, especially as public options starts to turn against automation

I actually read Atlas Shrugged at least twice (not recently), and while I think she had some interesting points, check out what's up in Venezuela and California these days, she expressed them in too verbose a manner.

HP Lovecraft used to write out his stories in long hand, and then edit them with a small artist's brush and black ink - words, a sentence, even entire paragraphs; I've seen photos of pages where he'd done this. Ms Rand could have used a similar process of editing (I suspect she used NO process of editing), only using a house painter's brush instead.

Atlas Shrugged would have made a great disaster flick otherwise.
