Are there any chemical processes similar to fire that don't rely on oxygen? if not, what is so special about oxygen that it is the only element to have this kind of reaction?

Combustion reactions are chemical reactions, usually with some common hydrocarbon, that produce CO2 and H2O. You need oxygen for the formation of both products there in the definition.
And yeah, there are other chemical reactions that give off light and heat.

Fire depends on a reaction with atmospheric gases. So besides o2 the only options are n2 and co2, which are both rather stable.
I dunno what is possible with artificial atmospheres.

Fire is just a vigorous chemical reaction that produces lots of heat. There are tons of reactions which yield lots of heat without oxygen being involved. Fluorine and chlorine are particularly vicious, but the halogens and alkali metals are all quite reactive in general. For best results, mix the two.
