I'm 25 and on my 5th day of my manufacturing job and I can already tell I don't be able to last here. I am eating lunch alone in my car and I'm probably being exposed to dangerous chemicals despite following safety procedures. I was telling my dad about tree function and tree3 and how I think it and grahams number are cool and he told me this means I should do a math degree. I told him that actual math degree won't be just "fun" math and I'm too retarded and poor. But now I am realizing I am an autistic and won't function here for very long.

As a result I am wondering if, between Clep examinations and studying math on my own, I could achieve the equivalent of some math degree and find a comfy job for it. I don't care if it's low pay I just want to work from home so I don't have to wake up at 5am. I have friends who are doing machine learning research I hung out with. My friend told me I could learn basics of that within a year. I don't believe him. But I have a ton of teaching company DVDs my mother bought for me on sale years ago. The last academic thing I did was stats and calc based physics (the former was community college so I didn't even learn derivations for stuff, it was all plug and chug)

Is there any hope for me? How do I proceed?
