Brainlet trying to understand electricity and matter here. Suppose I had a pair of wires hooked up to a lightbulb on the moon, and I touched them to the battery at the exact same instant. What would happen?
A. The circuit is completed, and the lightbulb lights up instantaneously as the current flows through it.
B. The current flows at the speed of light down to the lightbulb. The lightbulb lights up 1.3 seconds after I touched the power source to the battery, and the current continues back another 1.3 seconds to earth, OR the electric current from both the positive and negative sides flowed to the lightbulb at c, lighting it up after 1.3 seconds.
C. The current flows from the positive, to the light bulb on the moon after 1.3 seconds. It then finds it's path back to the negative end of the battery on earth, taking another 1.3 seconds. After 2.6 seconds, the circuit "has enough information to know it's closed and can begin f flowing", for lack of a better way of saying it, and THEN the lightbulb lights up.
