You need to define a criteria for "distinguishability" which is dependent upon the resolution of whatever instrument you are considering in this experiment of yours. This provides for a parameter that must be satisfied in that all selected N wavelengths of light must be at least this far apart in their wavelengths. It then comes down to random number generation within the visual spectrum wherein all provided numbers must satisfy this constraint simultaneously.
