I would say I'm pretty smart, and relatively successful for a 24 y/o. I also was a 2.5 degen in HS and didn't even apply to college by the time I graduated because it was such a forgone conclusion that I wasn't going anyway.

I Enlisted in the military reserves, went to community college, then transferred to a state school. Worked for the gov every summer at relatively name brand "agency", saved money. Killed the 4-yr Bachelor's degree and turned the GRE around in a week to take a once in a lifetime opportunity to go to High ranking grad school on mil's dime. Now I make 70k a year going to school 2 days a week.

The theme OP is that I just kept pushing until someone either 1) laughed me out of the room or 2) told me no multiple times. There is no "excel sheet" to speak of...in a macro-sense. I wake up with the mentality that everyday is a battle to be won in some small way. Adapt and overcome, move forward. That's life man.

You have to be persistent and just keep hammering away.

Alot of very successful people. Especially rich people are as incompetent as anyone else but they can mask it with money. Paying landscapers, laundry people, cleaners. This isn’t even the super rich any more relatively low income people outsource their chores now. This lets you work or study more. Academics have always been notorious for living like this.I’ve lived with several people in the last few years and its been eye opening to see how people who seem to have their shit together are actually totally useless just well supported. We’re supposed to exist in tight support networks. Young men generally have to a lesser extent but now they’re more isolated than ever. Don’t beat yourself up for struggling with scheduling and having your shit together.
Now i’m older i’m amazed by how squared away my parents are but they’ve a 30 odd year headstart. Compared to your single peers you’re probably fine.
