Please don't discuss hallucinogenic drugs on /sci/ ever again. No academic discipline takes hallucinogens seriously, including psychology, mathematics, etc. Smart people don't use hallucinogens... people who use hallucinogens are dumb college kids who think they're "connecting with nature" and "discovering the true nature of reality" while listening to pink floyd music and acting like a schizophrenic or crazy homeless man on the street. While LSD is physically harmless, taking it too many times often turns people into wannabe hippies who stop studying because they came to the conclusion that the meaning of life is to create music and smile and hug trees and laugh and love, frolicking with your friends in the meadows and singing.

. If you come up with some crazy idea on LSD, no one will take it seriously. You might think LSD makes you smarter and sharper. But if you come up with some mathematical idea while tripping, and show it to a math professor at the nearest university, he will see some crazy disturbed kid and be concerned and possibly refer you to campus mental health services. You might think acid makes you creative and see beauty in the universe, but if you try your hand at making a painting on LSD, and show it to an art professor, they will see some delusional kid who drew like a 5 year old.

When you're tripping on acid, you think you're some enlightened genius, but then you try to do a homework problem from calculus class and all you see is foreign letters and squiggles and math doesnt make any sense.

I did LSD several times. I stopped worshipping LSD because my most recent trip was a disappointing one. I normally love math, but while i was tripping, some sober autistic friends decided to do some fun math problems. I liked the idea of doing math, but i couldn't understand anything they were doing on the board, despite having made As in all my calculus classes. I felt so dumb. Here were all these smart autistic math guys, and i was acting like a fool
