Mitigating Global Warming via Deceleration

Hello /sci/ so I think I just made a breakthrough a discovery.
So you know how the platter inside a microwave oven spins? This spinning is what heats the food due to the coriolis effect and centrifugal forces.
Obviously the same must be happening to our planet. By slowing earth's rotation (I've yet to determine the optimal method, I think a large handbrake would be good) we can reduce the coriolis and centrifugal heating. Moreover, the friction from the atmosphere against the surface will decrease, generating less heat.
I hypothesize that this method of fighting global warming will result in a sharp increase in atmospheric temperatures as the energy from braking/slowing mechanism is dissipated but afterwards we'll see significantly cooler temperatures.
I plan to introduce this idea to my supervisor on Monday, let me know your thoughts.
