I think of logical and mathematical formalisms as descriptions of the way mind processes reality. Knowing and applying Bayes' Theorem is a smart person's way of consciously applying mental processes that are innate.

A bit more constructively: read "Thinking, fast and slow". It will show how why thinking in formalisms does not work (and those who appear to do often use shortcuts, like offload stuff to the spatial senses etc.)

Of course. But using a fast, fuzzy, pattern-matching-based style, not an exact style. We can also do exact style, but it is very slow. Nobody "naturally" thinks in anything akin to Bayesian probability. Spend 10 minutes on "thinking, fast and slow", it is easy to grasp and the 101 on most things that are related to cognition.
