Does anyone else find it interesting how completely uncontroversial mathematics is throughout human history? Honestly I think that mathematicians are the least persecuted academic group in human history. In terms of groups people hate scientists, artists, authors, engineers(luddites), philosophers, and literally everyone else but nobody hates mathematicians and I honestly can't think of a single time in any society where mathematicians got any shit.

I know it's obvious why but it's fucking interesting that a field of study so insanely influential and foundational to the modern world has absolutely zero controversy around it now or historically.
