Plato’s theory of forms composes all things. Some think of things such as the state is a non-empirical reality, even more so than that of the atom. The atom is a theoretical structure, but it is inductive empirical experience, which is to say we can observe the behavior of atoms. Similarly we can observe the behavior of the state. The state, like the atom, emerges from a realm of ideas, into an observable reality, out of invisible operations which happen in between. Neither of these things have empirically conformably reality except from the consequences of phantom presence which happens in between. Metaphysical predictions underly the heart of science.
We could say the phantom presence is a consequence of non-empirical realities, or forms. We don’t say that flash drives have no empirical reality. Flash drives are forms of objects, which contain the form of whatever is on them. If what was on the flash drive had no empirical reality, we would say the music it contains has no empirical reality. Could we, therefor, claim that the idea of the state has as much empirical reality as music, because the various frequency of sound waves coming from the speakers is analogous to the state of affairs between people playing out this programmed data from their heads. People perform this program from patterns in their brains, just like the music contained on the flash drive. The people operating in unison are the brain of the state. To perform the function of the state is a similar occurrence to the music which is contained on a flash drive, except the flash drive is a brain.
