This just proves that nobody needs to know about boring arcane shit like "unitary operators" or "topological groups" or any of that stupid shit. If something seems reasonable or unreasonable to your intuitions, that a lot more important than whether you can "accurately" describe it in some abstruse formalism that obfuscates the problems, more so that clarifying it. Indeed, as history has shown countless times, the "intuitions" of a single genius far outweigh the supposed "science" and "formalism" of more mundane minds.
