Herd mentality and emotions are severe detriments to humanity.
Its said its easier to convince a group than a single person.
Often times on things that people are very neutal about you can influence their mentality by having some people in the group give the first opinions and others will mindlessly agree.
We see it everywhere, with circlejerks. This is what I loved about 4chan, you had less circlejerking because thee's no post hiding and lax moderation
I dont want to make this a meta oldfag thread but you get the gist. The intenet in itself seems to have gone from individuality too group focus, with only circlejerks.
I think its intentional. The internet has shown its power many times in the 2000s and powerful folks got scared, so conquer and divide.
Overall, do you see humanity improving in the next 500 years? I think compared to 2000 years ago we are actively devolving. We live in a world where not being too smart is frequently a better strategy than being a mindless followers
