parents

who else here on /sci/ had parents who stealthily (to a kid) pushed them towards science? my mom and dad always pushed me toward science -- my dad taught me about schrodinger's cat and told me to read the Gribbin book with a related title, and my mom bought me a couple of books written by Feynman (and no, not the feynman lectures, more like surely you're joking)

neither of them were scientists either. and now here i am as a postdoc and i'm like "wtf maybe i should have been a brainlet business shill, instead" sometimes. not most of the time but sometimes
