You have the decimal positional base system taught in schools throughout the first world and most of everywhere eslse, sure, but are there other systems that are equally viable and quite different from the system we use but preserve the property of being decimal?

Kind of like a culture that would use, for an example, fractions as a substitute for decimals (or whatever-your-base-is-mals)? Interesting idea, I've never thought about it. Changes from the usual foreign base systems or absence of 0.

There is only one decimal number system since any number can be expressed in the form:
x = a*10+b*10^1+c*10^2+...
where a,b,c are clearly defined by virtue of a = x mod 10, b = x mod 100 - a, c = x mod 1000 - b

Decimal is base 10.
There are other bases you can count in. Personally I use a base infinity counting system.
