Its not a big stretch to say that high frequency pulsed electromagnetic waves which vibrate in a constant barrage down to centimeter and even millimeter wavelenghts can affect said electrically active parts even if its not heat, considering that its pulsed and concentrated in such a way
"Beam sweeping" is used in the 5G variant, as if 4G wasn't bad enough with using the same frequencies as those of household microwave ovens (wi-fi) and industrial microwave ovens (4G BTS phone towers), the 5G beam sweeping effectively focuses the electromagnetic waves into a beam, because the higher frequencies have shorter range which otherwise wouldn't be practical. Point is, by focusing it into a beam it will by definition up the strength.
