How do I add a phase switch to this?
I want to invert the phase of either pickups so when the pickup selector is on the middle position the pickups are out of phase with eachother.

I don't think you can (or need to) with those pickups. Call the manufacturer.

How would you switch it anyway? You'd have to get new pots for the volume since your tone pots already are push pulls.

You can with any pickup. It consists of flipping the positive and negative. The positive is easy, it's the one that goes to the 3 way switch. The negative is the green and black wires that come from the pickups. And the green ones are soldered together, makin me wonder how can you invert the phase of one pickup and not the other.

And yes, I bougt 3 pushpull pots.

Yeah, if it were just a strait coil or a humbucking pair, but look at the picture: this is a Seymour Duncan P-Rail. It has 4 wires but is NOT a humbucking pickup.

.... I don't have any idea what this is... What if each post had two separate windings? What if there were one super coil around the whole thing?

Maybe their whole trick is to phase shift within the coil by mounting them out of phase to begin with? I see that they have a different coil for the bridge than the do for the neck....

I don't know...

So OP should call the manufacturer and find out..

It's a P Rails diagram but my actual guitar has regular Duncan humbuckers, but either way how does any of that affect the working of the phase switch?

I want to switch the phase of the entire pickup, NOT of one bobbin so the pickup is out of phase with itself.

It mattered because I don't know what a P-rail is. It has one set of posts but 4 wires.

Yes. I would think you have to flip both sets of north and south on the whole pickup to shift the phase between bridge and neck pickup and hence your question.

You would need a push pull volume that was made for a humbucker: two for the black white, two for the green red and one for ground. So it would have to be a quadruple pull double throw pot push pull.

I have no idea how to wire that with tone pots however...

Let me just add to this. You are going to have to put a cap and a resistor in for the push/pull so it doesn't bounce. It is one thing to switch a pickup off with a selector switch and another to change its phase while it is still connected to the amp. That coil will discharge with a loud pop if you don't debounce the switch.

So this is for a two pot guitar like mine, a Schecter Pete Townsend, except that the PT only has the one push pull..
