What do you feel like are some current problems with science?

Yesterday I was in an argument of the health affects of a chemical and my friend just dismissed all research as being controlled by large companies with profit interest.

I honestly don't think that is as big of a problem as it used to be, and also the growth of international research has helped stamp out a lot of the "padded numbers" factor.


But aside from that what issue do you take with related to science, medicine, research etc.
