Could it be that during the ice age, That these large underwater valleys that abut from flat ocean ground were the location of prehistoric rivers or the prior extensions of existing ones? I feel that this one valley in particular is too massive to be the result of the last ice age. it must be the result of multiple ice ages causing the hudson river to extend out.
