Few theories. Some say asteroid impacts (leading in popularity)
Some say captured from Earth formation.
Personally I think we have a layer of metallic hydrogen at the surface of the core, unless you think subduction really brings water all the way down through the mantle to the edge of the core.

It could be the planet's "cytoplasm", before something happened. Something that could be responsible for creation of one or more of the following: the Moon, Earth's axis rotation, viruses, small cells, phagocytosis, evolution.

Or it just came from comets bombarding the early Earth, and everything is actually pretty boring.

Multiple sources. Hydrogen is the most abundant molecule in the universe. Oxygen is relatively abundant in our solar system due to us being a third generation solar system and the Earth having enough gravity to hold on to that oxygen.

So a good chunk came from the original formation of Earth. Another part from asteroid impacts. Last part came from volcanic eruptions putting CO2 in the atmosphere that slowly over time gets made into O3 and O2 due to radiation and lightning strikes which in turn binds to H2 to form H2O.

The only thing we don't know is what the ratio of these 3 things were. We don't know how much each of these things contributed precisely but we know all three contributed significantly to the amount of water on Earth.
