>>11161079The wavefunction we use to describe the electron needs to 'be updated', which is the measurement postulate (which is needed for the framework of QM). The reason 'observing' is a key word, is because if you have an interaction with an electron or disturb it somehow without observing it, you can't update your wave function.
So after an observation, you update your wavefunction and you know with 100% certainty the electron is in this specific position at this specific time. However we also know (with lots of good experimental evidence) that the correct way of describing an electron generally is in a 'superposition' of states. In this case, asking where the electron is located doesn't even make physical sense, because it's not in one specific place. That's not because of our lack of knowledge on the electron - it's literally the correct mathematical and physical way of describing it.
