but when it comes to being "right" instead of just being "smart" then you see scientists winning. unfortunately in today's society, being right doesn't count for much -- the most important thing according to mainstream culture is being popular on social media and in democratically decided votes. therefore we scientists are doomed to just being "right" while the popular ideas dictate "reality"
