I would say that caffeine's effect of stimulating the digestive tract (making me need to take a s**t - not intentionally being crude) is gets extremely undesirable during the winter. I am on a strict diet (500 calories a day) and enjoy not necessarily having to take a shit every day. It's cold, my hands are stiff, it generally doesn't feel great having to stop what I'm doing and spend 10 minutes in the bathroom. And of course it never comes out well, it takes half a toilet paper roll to clean up. Can well all agree that doesn't sound very nice?
I would say this is the reason why I'm relying on coffee less and less as I start seeing my own breath in front of a computer screen during the winter. Every time I regret it. Is this kind of objective hindrance and discomfort worth the fleeting sense of presence, wakefulness and control. Wouldn't you agree?
