>>11154005>the amount of energy needed to do significant travel could be used to colonize planets in our solar systemI think the idea IS colonizing planets and moons in our solar system, harvesting their resources, and then venturing out further into space via space habitats (also something we can build in our own solar system, to mine from the asteroid belt), and then eventually, interstellar travel to colonize planets far more suitable for human beings.
