Engineering is no different from being a plumber. People with real intellectual curiosity get phds in math or science. People who simply get a bachelors degree so that way they can be employable for their tedious plug and chug slave job are simply the cogs that are needed to make civilization go, but they are nothing compared to mathematicians and scientists.
