What computer language is the best btw? What is more widely applicable especially in the development of game engines?

Learning python first is probably the easiest. You might want to try the PyCharm IDE. It is less intuitive to get working than the basic ide but the step by step debugging tools can help a lot for understanding how the code works.

There are a lot of programming guides on YouTube and google depending on if you prefer video or text.

C#(unity) or C/C++(basically most others).
Don't listen to the pythonheads because if you'll have to learn C eventually, better start off with that. You will also learn system technicalities as you go, which isn't really the case with Python.
