I've been thinking about why certain things in physics have been allowed to persist that are fundamentally wrong and some of the older material that much of the modern materials built on. And the only conclusion I can come to is that approximation allow you to do productive work but then limit you to the Innovative work that pushes Beyond the current convention.
By holding the approximation is in Dogma it perpetuates certain industries.
while those trying to circumnavigate around the Dogma often have to succumb to pitfalls due to the lack of standardized peer review.
