NASA is paying BOEING nearly double what they are paying spacex for the same exact thing. The avg ticket price they gave boeing is 90 million per, and with spacex about 50 million.

This is what entrenched interests and lobbying gets you.

At the time the contracts were awarded they had only a handful of launches. To this day they have never launched a human into space. So I am correct. I know it's hard to imagine you don't know something, but just try anon. You might learn something.

To this day SpaceX's record of success for human spaceflight includes them doing ONE unmanned test flight earlier this year and that is it.

Actually I was leaving for work in the morning and didn't have time. The counter argument is this: The contract is to make a new space vehicle for manned flight. By definition they could not have tested it yet when the contract was awarded because, like i said, it's for a "new" vehicle that didn't exist yet. So yes, both SpaceX and Boeing had not yet tested their non-existent manned vehicles when the contract was awarded. But Boeing has a very long and proven history of both manned and unmanned spaceflight, which is what I was alluding to. Basically SpaceX is the unproven but cheap option and Boeing is the more expensive but less risky option. It made perfect sense for NASA to fund both and I'm glad they did. As a sidenote, while I was at work today I read about the extra ~$270M that Boeing got added to the contract through what was basically extortion, and that is something to actually call bullshit on. But the idea that in general they cost more than SpaceX make sense because SpaceX is more risky (not only due to being unproven, but even from a purely technical perspective based on how they are designing things, using lots of COTS parts, etc)
