I lived in a makeshift experimental quasi-biodome for a few years and recycled everything including human waste from a composting toilet.
You don't need to buy anything, all the bacteria, fungi, slime moulds, insects, etc are already present in the environmnt, just put everything that can break down in either a compost heap or an anaerobic bioreactor, which sounds high tech but it's just a 44 gallon drum with a lid on it, aerobic composting takes 2 years to convert anything that can break down into high quality soil,
Anaerobic produces methane so you can use the gas to power water heaters and gas stoves etc.
It's way easier and hygienic than it sounds.
You put stuff like meat in the aerobic reactor so you don't get vermin, and it doesn't smell.
