That's actually a pretty damn good point but I really want to become a video game designer as well. I'm thinking about planning out my life so that I can, at some point, go out into space, possibly even Mars, as a civilian astronaut educator via NASA.

In terms of rainfall, but large sections of the surface regolith is 2% water by weight and there are hundred meter thick glaciers of relatively pure water.
Its easier to get water on Mars than in plenty of deserts here on Earth.
