And multiplication introduces a third symbol: ABCAABB equivalent to (:)((:)) ie 15
Which, unfortunately, cannot be mapped directly to binary radio pulses so a length 2 sequence of pulses is required for each symbol (this also includes room for a deplex symbol as the fourth symbol).
It would be interesting to see if regular ol' base form notation is more efficient than this notation. Or what classes of numbers it is more efficient for
