What's the scientific reason for this? They both go to the same school so they receive the same education and have similar socio-economic factors.

Home life is a better indication of how successful someone will be in school. having access to the same school doesn't change how people behave at home. There are no shortcuts to the expression of intelligence as it takes repetition and time.

This is why we should not pair people in school based on age it should be entirely based on performance. however those that cry foul will cite psychology of needing to deal with your peers. While this is valid for social issues this is not going to be valid for academic achievement.

Why do you automatically see this as a race thing, anon? You have a sample size of 1 from two races. Hardly enough to draw a conclusion about race.

But seriously, the reason is that intelligence is high hereditary. Africans, as well as some other races, have not evolved very well in this sense. They really need to introduce eugenics if they want to catch up.

I didn't say anything about race, racist-kun. I simply wanted to know why different children at the the same school might have drastically different abilities especially for something so simple as spelling.

I never suggested segregation of race. Lumping kids together based on age is discriminatory towards those with higher intelligence and lower intelligence. As teachers are forced to address a mean average of the class that may not reflect the needs of the outliers.

well that's the problem of what you get when you base grouping of classes by age and then "hold people back" based on performance rather than grouping them by performance in the first place.
Universities today use entry exams to play students based on performance. I don't see anyone crying foul at those levels. simply stated group people by performance and never group them by age that way you never have to "hold someone back"

So ideally what you'd probably want is a mixed system where you have teachers teaching different subjects at the earliest age. using performance test for academic placement while having a shared classroom of age peers that will learn about non-academic social issues. but to be honest many students will probably see this class as a break or waste of time but it does allow for introductions between those are the same age to appease sociologists.

You can't necessarily have age peers for people who are far dumber than average. They might end up with a class or 2 or 3 people in a school and that obviously wouldn't work. It would be hard to divide classes not only into difficulty but into age as well.

I'm not sure if you misread what I said but these are going to be separate classes not a single class. So you droop people in the school based on their age for only one class while the rest of their classes will be based on academic performance. There wouldn't be low numbers like two or three people.

again, i'm not talking about the group as a whole, only the sample in the UK. the BBC documentary is about children in the UK, so i thought it was relevant.
most of the groups you see in that table are not unbiased samples. indians don't have an average iq of 96 as a whole... and it wouldn't be significantly higher than pakistan and bangladesh.
