I personally think electricity does play a large part of the universe and has a profound effect on life on our planet from an evolutionary standpoint. However the electric Universe does not address these in a way that is practical or worthwhile.
I get a lot of people suggesting electric Universe stuff to me because of my experiments in electrostatics but frankly I'm not buying into it. Classical mechanics in quantum mechanics are closer approximation, until such time as a more adequate explanation of combining the two is reached that may involve an electric Theory but not the electric universe in its current state.
