Because Elon reads a massive amount whilst everyone else is pissing their life away drinking. The biggest problem Academia has it that to get into anything, you need a degree. This idea is good, the execution is horrible. These days you can learn everything using books/internet. You don't need some professor droning on about it to validate your knowledge.
