>>11130514It's not any weirder than an electron in principle. In the actual formulation of the standard model (in the Langrangian) they are treated exactly the same way as electrons, except that they also interact with gluons whereas electrons dont.
But the interaction with gluons leads them to be confined and so that's probably why they are treated as more mysterious in popsci.
Note that you can treat something like charmonium, which is one of the heavier quarks orbiting its antiparticle, much like an ordinary hydrogen atom with the Coulomb force somewhat modified.
