I'm had two psychotic breakdowns last year, each one landing with about a week stay in the hospital. I shake when I'm overstimulated. I noticed this occurring when I was in the psych ward the first time, where I was promptly put on 500mg of lithium and 35mg of aripiprazole (abilify) and given a shot of the same shit. I went off that shit when I got out of the hospital, went to another one, where they gave me 5 mg of aripiprazole (no shot, no lithium), and I was fine. FF to now, and I'm taking 2.5 mg for the past two months. Recently, I noticed the shaking when concurrent with overstimulation has occurred again--perhaps it can be the prologue to another psychosis. Should I up my dose back to 5 mg? Or should I cut out stimulants? (I drink a cup of coffee each day and vape liquid at 6mg/mL). I like the taste of coffee, and I tried to quit vaping but the withdrawal symptoms are pretty bad. What's my best course of action? I think that I should probably start by halving my stimulant intake, and see where it goes from there. Should I do an ABAB (baseline) test with regards to the stimulants, to see if it has an effect on the shaking? Or should I just start by halving my dose of stimulants, or doubling my dose? The initial halving of the dose was approved by my psychiatrist, btw.
