Tbh I think the issue isn't having feathers it's to what extent some taxa had them. It doesn't make sense for a multiton (endo leaning on mesotherm) animal to be a cotton ball and some people (on both sides) blow everything out of proportion by interpreting evidence their way rather than looking at it objectively and making posts on tumblr/deviantart about it cause They'reRight(tm). Some taxa def feathered some others def not and a few in betweens are leaning towards very VERY little filaments if any at all. It's a spectrum not these mutually exclusive "Has to be A or B" since people try to fit everything into neatly categorized boxes.

TLDR Real science fact checked by other scientists > little kids on the internet

To be fair, there's a huge childhood bias that creates resistance against the feathers theory. All of us grew up with those pretty illustrations of huge dinosaurs depicted as giant lizards with scales. Then Jurassic Park came in and solidified the archetypical giant dinosaur as lizard-like in the pop culture. Althought feathered dinosaurs sound cool as fuck and makes sense, there will still be strong resistance to that hypothesis until we get conclusive ecidence.

i too believe that probably in the history of dinosaurs probably at the beginning they looked more like lizards but at the end they looked more like birds, but i can't throw bio terms around as easily, so i cite you on this. /sci/tation

Isn't it true that the current guess is that T-rex adolescents for example lent more towards puffs to help retain their body heat but as they grew more massive most of their protofeather fluff things dropped away so their increasing size wouldn't cook them to death?

Here's one of a billion other pieces of conclusive evidence that at least SOME filaments were present on dinosaurs. I agree the issue is coming in with a bias but it's really on both sides.

That sounds about right. There's also the whole discussion on large carnivorous dinosaurs changing their metabolism as they grew but as of currently the idea of babies having feathers is still speculative and not solid. I think it may be likely but wouldn't wanna bet on it.
