A sense of humor is something that can be learned. It's defined by your culture and society.

But fart jokes are different. An infant who can't even talk is capable of understanding and laughing at a fart joke. They exist in literally every culture and every society for as far back in time as we can see. Laughing at farts appears to be coded into our DNA. Why?
